Featuring a full-service medical center, Castle offers a wide range of inpatient, outpatient, and home-based services, with over 1,000 employees and staffed by more than 300 physicians. Located just outside of Kailua, AHCS serves all of O'ahu and is the primary health care facility for the Windward side of the island.


We're looking for someone to join our team as a Tobacco Treatment Specialist who:

Conducts smoking and vaping cessation counseling sessions to individual and groups as well as completes program evaluations and tracking.


Essential Functions:

  • Provides one-to-one wellness presentations, education and counseling, including smoking and vaping cessation with patients and other community members at various locations.
  • Facilitates support groups, smoking cessation classes and other wellness improvement groups with adults and youth.
  • Ensures required documentation and reporting is completed and submitted, as dictated by requirements.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.


You'll be successful with the following qualifications:



  • Associate's/Technical Degree in public health, psychology or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Required
  • Bachelor's Degree: Preferred


Work Experience: 

  • Three years relevant experience in community health education: Preferred
  • Non-smoker or an ex-smoker who has been smoke-free for at least two (2) years: Required
  • Experience conducting research-based tobacco use prevention and smoking cessation interventions: Preferred


Required Licenses/Certifications: 

  • Tobacco Treatment Specialist Certification: Preferred
  • Valid Driver's License in good standing and use of personal car for work related transportation: Required
