We're looking for someone to join our team as a Sr. Provider Educator - RN who:

Utilizes adult educational principles and leadership skills to effectively meet the comprehensive needs of the providers/clinic staff in a safe and caring professional manner. Develops content and provides the education for Electronic Health Record (EHR) provider specialists, providers, clinic staff, and provider super users for the implementation of clinical software applications. Conducts classroom training for provider onboarding and EHR provider specialists, and participates with at-the-elbow training and support for ongoing EHR updates and education. Leads the development and delivery of communication of EHR process changes and updates for customers via the provider EHR support coaches. Assists the EHR provider specialists with clinical and process questions, and interfaces with EHR physician informaticists in providing feedback/education to providers. Integrates hospital policies and procedures, professional standards and regulatory requirements into educational content. Makes ongoing recommendations to the clinical informatics department leadership for improvements in the program, and is able to facilitate incorporating the changes into the educational program.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Develops and maintains the content for the EHR provider specialists, and conducts their onboarding and ongoing education regarding EHR updates and/or process improvements in accordance with defined key process indicators of services. Conducts education effectively via multiple modalities including classroom, Skype, video, individual and/or in person training. Develops and delivers clear and effective communication of changes and updates to customers and provider EHR support coaches. Develops and administers an education strategy based on assessment and requirements for users to gain competence in system use.
  • Oversees and administers the creation of a repeatable model by which education will be executed which includes scheduling, education process, materials, post go-live support and new user education. Utilizes a structured process to evaluate the teaching and learning process for all education sessions and incorporate necessary changes into subsequent sessions. Oversees the assessment of user's pre-requisite skills. Oversees the performance of the EHR provider specialists, and provides feedback to their leadership. Creates, administers and reviews survey feedback and creates program improvements to address identified needs.
  • Conducts rounding with the providers/clinic staff to understand and identify educational needs that may be adapted into the ongoing or onboarding education. Assist the EHR provider specialists with clinical process questions/feedback and liaisons with the EHR provider informaticists as needed for assistance to providers having difficulty with the clinical applications/systems processes and/or use. Leads conversations regarding clinical best practices and EHR/clinical system optimization opportunities identified in the markets, and provides feedback to the system clinical informatics leadership. Take a lead role in project design meetings representing education needs.
  • Organizes, creates and manages the documentation process to facilitate the availability and distribution of all education course attendance records, instructor guides, education handouts, assessment forms, and evaluation forms. Provides leadership for the local Information Technology department in setting up the proper education environment, including adequate functioning of all equipment and furnishings. Collaborates with other clinical informatics department staff and/or information technology staff to identity trends in clinician support issues, and making recommendations for improvement. Insures feedback loops are included in all communication processes.
  • Manages the design and setup of the specialized education facilities to support installation activities and education sessions. Identifies potential process- and/or department-specific risks and assist in strategies to mitigate manage and/or resolve, taking an active role in mitigating and resolving identified issues. Actively participates in organizational performance improvement teams to utilize clinical applications in support of process change and improvement.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

 

You'll be successful with the following qualifications:

 

Education: 

  • Associate's/Technical Degree in Nursing or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing: Preferred

 

Work Experience: 

  • Five years experience in a healthcare setting: Preferred
  • Four years experience in conducting education/training: Preferred

 

Required Licenses/Certifications: 

  • Registered Nurse (RN) or other clinical licensure in state of practice or Adventist Health work location: Required
