Located minutes from Lanikai Beach in Windward Oahu, Adventist Health Castle is nestled at the base of the beautiful Ko’olau mountain range. More than just a beautiful campus, AHCS also one of five organizations nationwide to receive the 2017 Baldrige National Quality Award.

Featuring a full-service medical center, Castle offers a wide range of inpatient, outpatient, and home-based services, with over 1,000 employees and staffed by more than 300 physicians. Located just outside of Kailua, AHCS serves all of O'ahu and is the primary health care facility for the Windward side of the island.

We're looking for someone to join our team as a Dental Hygienist (Outpatient) who:

Provides oral hygiene and preventive services to dental patients. Evaluates and assesses provision of services. Performs procedures safely in compliance with regulations under the direction of a dentist. Prepares materials and equipment for treatment and has them ready for dentist's use.

Essential Functions:

 

  • Removes calculus and plaque (hard and soft deposits) from all surfaces of the teeth, applies preventive materials to the teeth, i.e., sealants and fluorides, and teaches patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health, e.g., tooth brushing, flossing and nutritional counseling.
  • Makes impressions of patients' teeth for study casts (models of teeth used by dentists to evaluate patient treatment needs.
  • Prepares patients for services, documents procedures and assists with other office management activities, i.e., scheduling patients, as needed.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

 

You'll be successful with the following qualifications:

Education:

 

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent (some certifications will require Bachelor's): Required
  • Master's Degree: Preferred

 

Required Licenses/Certifications:

 

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association certification: Preferred
  • Dental Hygienist licensure in the state of practice: Required
