We are thrilled to announce that recruitment has officially begun for the long-awaited grand opening of our brand new, state of the art pediatric specialty medical center in Fowler, which is a partnership with Valley Children's Healthcare! We're looking for someone to join our team as a Dental Assistant (Outpatient) who:

Provides appropriate oral health services to patients and families. Assists the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures including, but not limited to, taking/developing dental radiographs (x-rays) and preparing/sterilizing instruments and equipment for patient use.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Ensures patients feel comfortable before, during and after dental treatment. Conducts patient history and takes blood pressure & pulse. Prepares materials and equipment for treatment and has them ready for dentist's use. Prepares materials and equipment for treatment and has them ready for dentist's use. Serves as an infection control officer, developing infection control protocol. Provides patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures, such as a restoration (filling). Teaches patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health, i.e., tooth brushing, flossing and nutritional counseling.
  • Prepares patients for services, documents procedures and assists with other office management activities, i.e., scheduling patients, as needed.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

 

You'll be successful with the following qualifications:

 

Education: 

  • High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
  • Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred

 

Required Licenses/Certifications: 

  • Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) in state of practice: Preferred
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification: Preferred
