The Adventist Health Vallejo Center for Behavioral Health offers a range of behavioral health services in Vallejo, CA and St. Helena, CA. Our campus is a freestanding 61-bed facility offering short-term psychiatric care for children, adolescents and adults. We also offer partial hospitalization programs for adults.

We're looking for someone to join our team as a Chaplain (On Call) who:

Provides spiritual counseling and support, in accordance with patient, family and interdisciplinary team member beliefs and desires. Facilitate spiritual care for the patient and families in spiritual distress or crisis situation.


Essential Functions:

  • Provides pastoral care services to patients in various situations, like those undergoing surgical procedures, facing end-of-life issues and in traumatic accidents on an on-call basis.
  • Provides comfort and support to patient families and friends.
  • Responds to requests for pastoral care in a timely manner. Participates in the offering of worship opportunities.
  • Ensures the religious and spiritual needs of patients and their loved ones are met. Acts as a spiritual resource to staff.
  • Accountable to the organizational mission, core vision and values.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.


You'll be successful with the following qualifications:



  • Bachelor's Degree in theology, spirituality, pastoral ministry or equivalent: Required
  • Master's of Divinity degree or equivalent: Preferred


Required Licenses/Certifications: 

  • Ecclesiastical Endorsement from faith denomination: Required
  • Ministerial credentials and/or licensing: Required
