We're looking for someone to join our team as a Director, Project Management Office who:


Directs activities of the Project Management Office (PMO) using the portfolio management framework, criteria and methodology for proposing, approving and reviewing all projects/programs across the system. Establishes metrics for managing project performance to desired goals; interfaces with business owners/project leads to review and monitor work plans and assesses implications of any challenges or obstacles to ensure successful execution of programs and projects. Reviews, analyzes, and synthesizes findings from project portfolio dashboards to facilitate executive level decision making. Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned personnel using both professional and supervisory discretion and independent judgment. Manages the PMO budget.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Directs and establishes metrics for managing project performance to desired goals. Collaborates with business owners and project leads to review and monitor work plans. Evaluates and recommends courses of action related to any challenges or obstacles to ensure successful execution of programs and projects.
  • Participates in annual strategy planning sessions to promote alignment of initiated programs and/or projects to organizational strategies. Participates in key governance meetings as appropriate.
  • Partners with Executive Governance Cabinet to adjust the strategic scope of the ePMO as necessary, based on the strategic direction and performance review of portfolios, programs and projects.
  • Articulates current and future healthcare challenges, operating models, high-level value chains, volume/price relationships, and ways businesses generate revenue and incur costs. Understands and articulates organization's competitive position, how external factors drive change, and its position in the value chain.
  • Promotes and maintains partnerships with leading PMOs, business partner units, and overall enterprise executives.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

 

You'll be successful with the following qualifications:

 

Education: 

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Required
  • Master's Degree: Preferred

 

Work Experience: 

  • Ten years project management experience: Preferred
  • Ten years technical experience: Preferred
  • Five years leadership experience: Preferred
  • Three years experience in a healthcare setting: Preferred

 

Required Licenses/Certifications: 

  • Project Management Professional certification: Preferred
